This week at the library – July 3

03 Jul

Sunday, July 3, 2 – 4 pm – Reception — Peacham Library and Peacham Historical Association will host a reception for Lynn Bonfield and Karen Lewis at Peacham Library. Lynn A. Bonfield, archivist, documentary editor, and author, came to Peacham in 1978 to research the Alfred and Chastina W. Rix journal she had found on the shelves of the California Historical Society. This research has resulted in her new book, New England to Gold Rush California, the story of two young teachers from the Peacham Academy, who settled in San Francisco. Karen Lewis studied art at the School of the Museum of Fine arts, Boston, and received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Tufts University in 1972. She works in oil, pastel, color pencil, pen and ink and Brushes – an iPad painting program. Karen’s work will be on display in the Gilmore Gallery through August.

Monday, July 4, noon – 3pm – Book Sale — We have a book sale all the time, but this sale is part of Peacham’s 4th of July celebration! In between the parade and the ghost walk, why not stop by to buy some books and support the library?
