This week at the library — October 16

October 18, 1:15pm — Tuesday Theatre — We’ll show a movie about “the right stuff” or what it takes to be an astronaut.  This winner of four Academy Awards stars Dennis Quaid, Sam Shepard and Barbara Hershey. 

October 20 & 27, 3:15 – 5:00pm — Explore the Moon — An after school program for students in grades 3 -8 on Thursday October 20th and 27th from 3:15 – 5:00pm.  Students will learn about the moon by making edible models, creating craters, modeling the moon’s motion, and viewing the moon’s surface.  Sign up is not required.

October 20, 7:00pm – Readers’ Delight —   Our book will be Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. Our next book will be The Book of Salt by Monique Truong.  Contact the library if you need a copy.

October 21, 9am – Preschool Story Time — Join us for stories, crafts and an occassional song or fingerplay.

October 21, 10am – noon — Coffee Hour — Good food, great conversation, and coffee or tea in a family friendly environment

October 28 , 10am – noon – Coffee Hour

October 31, 4:30 – 6:30pm – Artist Reception and Trick or Treat — Peacham Library presents “The Moon,” a show of artwork by  Peacham Elementary School students.  The art will be on display in the Gilmore Gallery through October. 

November 2, 7pm – Game Night — Join us for games, new and old.

November 4, 9 am – Preschool Story Time 

Of Interest

Checkout our new Moon Kit (binoculars, tripod, books and directions) to view the moon in your backyard.  The kit was received from the Lunar and Planetary Institute through NASA funding.
