This week at the library – June 2, 2013

June 2, 10am, Home Grown Furniture — a new show in the Gilmore Gallery opens.  An Artists’ Reception will be held July 7 from 4-6pm.

June 3, 6pm, Friends of Peacham Library Meeting, all are welcome to help work on and plan Friends projects and fundraising events.

June 3, 7pm, Board Meeting

June 4, 10:00am,  Summer Reading Program Kickoff Event – We’ll dig into reading with singer / story teller Gary Dulabaum at Peacham Elementary School.  Children of all ages are welcome, but those under five and those not enrolled at the school must be accompanied by an adult.  Program supported by a grant from the Vermont Department of Libraries and the Smith Fund, a private Bequest from a Vermont and librarian Elva Sophronia Smith.

June 5, 7pm, Acoustic Music Night — It’s time to get ready for PAMFest!  Bring your instrument and join in this month’s jam session.  Don’t play an instrument?  Stop just to listen, tap your toes or even take a swing around the room.

June 6, 1pm, Summer Reading Signups begin — Drop by the library to sign up for summer activities at the library.  More details may be found in the Calendar / Events section of our website.

June 7, 10 am – noon, Coffee Hour – join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

June 10, 6:30pm, Peacham Knitters – Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting. New knitters are welcome to come for help and encouragement.

June 13, 7:00pm, Bites, Stings, Teeth and Wings: A Conversation on Environmental Health Risks with Josh Kantrowitz,  We all know about mosquitoes and ticks, but what other health risks are there in our environment?  Peacham’s Health Officer will lead us in this conversation on potential risks.

June 14, 9:00 am, Preschool Story Time – stories, crafts and activities for the young and their parents.

June 15, 7:00pm, Family Dance Party with Tritium Well (at the Peacham Gym) – Dance the night away and support the library at the same time.  Tritium Well is a local band featuring Bobby Farlice-Rubio (you know him from the Fairbanks Museum), Linda Warnaar (the local Caribbean drummer, Kevin Colosa (the music teacher at Peacham Elementary School), David Lapham and Nicolas Anzoalone.  Admission $10 to support the library, with children 12 and under free.
