August 5 – 9, 9:30 – 11am, Pinhole Cameras Learn the art of pinhole camera photography by making your own camera.  CLASS IS FULL.

August 5, 7pm, Board Meeting — Peacham Library Board of Directors meeting

August 7, 7:00pm, Acoustic Music Night – A time to jam or sit back and listen.  Bring your instrument to join in the jam, bring your feet to tap along if you’re sitting back!

August 8, 7:15pm, Readers’ Delight – Discussing Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card.  Contact the library if you would like to borrow a copy.

August 9, 9am, Preschool Story Time – Stories and a craft for the young and young at heart.

August 9, 10am-noon, Coffee Hour –  Join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

Looking Ahead

August 12, 9:00am, Kids’ French ClubFrench fun, stories, games, music and food—for everyone!

August 12, 6:30pm, Peacham Knitters – Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting. New knitters are welcome to come for help and encouragement.

August 13, 1:15pm, Tuesday Theatre – In conjunction with Peacham Historical Association’s Annual Meeting (August 14 at Peacham Congregational Church) presentation by Beverly Palmer titled “Thaddeus Stevens: History versus Hollywood,” Peacham Library will have an encore presentation of the recent movie about our sixteenth President, Abraham Lincoln, in which Thaddeus Stevens is a major player.

August 16, 10am-noon, Coffee Hour –  join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

August 17, 11am – 7pm, Friends of Peacham Library Ice Cream at PAMFestDrop by the tennis courts during PAMFest to buy ice cream (and toppings!) from Friends of Peacham Library.  Your purchase supports book purchases and programs at the library.

Gilmore Gallery

In a show entitled “Family,” slated to run from August through September, the Gilmore Gallery will present a collection of black and white portraits by Peacham-based journalist and photographer Sean Markey. Shot in a simple documentary-style, the images capture quiet, intimate moments from a decade of family celebrations of love, birth, and death.  An Artist’s Reception will be held September 22nd from 4 to 6pm.
