This week at the library — October 6, 2013

October 11, 10am-noon, Coffee Hour –  join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

October 12, 6:30 – 9pm, International Observe the Moon Night –  Peacham Library, Peacham Elementary School and Northeast Kingdom Astronomy Association join together in celebrating our nearest astronomical neighbor, the moon.  The evening will begin with stories and activities at 6:30pm at Peacham   Elementary School.  Around 7:00pm astronomers will be on hand to talk about the moon and how best to observe it.  As the sky darkens it will be time to move to the telescope, binoculars and the observatory.

Looking Ahead

October 14, 6:00pm, Peacham Library Board Meeting – Board retreat to work on strategic planning. Meetings are open to the public.

October 14, 6:30pm, Peacham Knitters – Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting. New knitters are welcome to come for help and encouragement.

October 15, 1:15 pm, Tuesday Theatre – “A Day in A Life” tells the story of five seniors who turn an ordinary day into something special.  Richard Bull (of “Little House on the Prairie” fame) stars along with Vernon Chapman, Emile Genest, Joy Goghill and FrancesBay in this film by Jean Mercier.

October 17, 7:00pm, Readers’ Delight – The group will discuss Penelope Lively’s Booker Prize winning novel Moon Tiger.  Contact the library if you would like to borrow a copy.

October 18, 10am-noon, Coffee Hour –  join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

October 20, 2:00 – 4:00pm, Reception to Honor Library Volunteers — The library has over 75 volunteers.  Join us as we celebrate their work and their support of the library.
