This week at the library — January 12, 2014

12 Jan

January 12, Artist Reception – Winter in Peacham, a group art show currently on display in the Gilmore WinterinPeacham120213Gallery.  Nine artists share their art and view of Peacham during winter.

January 13, 6:30pm, Peacham Knitters – Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting. New knitters are welcome to come for help and encouragement.

January 16, 7:00pm, Readers’ Delight – The group will discuss NW by Zadie Smith.  The February book will be A Confederacy of Dunces by John Toole. Contact the library if you need a copy of either book.

Looking Ahead

January 21, 1:15 pm, Tuesday Theatre – Slight of hand and technology are blended by four illusionists as they pull off bank heists during their performances, rewarding their audiences with the money.  Of course, the FBI and Interpol are on their trail.  This is definitely a case of “Now You See Me,” now you don’t.  Morgan Freeman and Michael Cane star in this PG-13 movie.

February 4, 7pm, How Children Succeed – Join us for a discussion on How Children Succeed.  While the starting point will be Paul Tough’s book How Children Succeed, the discussion will revolve around how we as a community envision success and what it takes for our children to succeed.  This program is sponsored by Peacham Library and Peacham Elementary School.  Request a copy of the book from the library.
