June 17, 1:15 pm, Tuesday Theatre – We all know and love Mary Poppins, but what about Mr. Banks, the father of the children? And what do we really know of P.L. Travers, the author of Mary Poppins? Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson, and Colin Farrell star in this PG-13 movie about saving Mr. Banks.

June 18, 9:00am, French Club — French activities and fun for everyone!

June 19, 1:15 pm, Family Theatre – Julie Andrews (in her screen debut) and Dick Van Dyke bring P.L. Travers’ book Mary Poppins alive in this G rated Disney movie. Children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

June 19, 7:00pm, Readers’ Delight – The group will discuss Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher by Timothy Egan. Contact the library if you would like to borrow a copy of the book.

June 20, 9:00am, Fiber Friday — Fantastic fiber fun for everyone!  We’ll have materials on hand to make a drawstring bag, but fiber fanatics are welcome to bring their own fiber related projects to work on for an hour or so of fiber fun.

June 20, 10am-noon, Coffee Hour –  join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

June 20, 7:00pm, Ragtime Concert with Deborrah Wyndham — Peacham Library presents Deborrah WyndhamMainPicDeborrah Wyndham for a delightful evening fundraising concert to be held a Peacham Congregational Church.

Looking Ahead

June 23 6:30pm, Peacham Knitters – Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting. New knitters are welcome to come for help and encouragement.

June 24 – 26, 9:30 – 11:00am – Mini Mathematical Art Camp – Origami, Geodesic domes, and Computer Art. Must be 8 or older. Sign up required.

June 24, 7:00pm, Freedom and Unity: The Vermont Movie — Part Two – Under the Surface – Peacham Library will screen this six part film on Vermont on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays throughout the summer.

June 27, 10am-noon, Coffee Hour –  join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

July 4, 10am – 3pm, Book Sale and Author Signings – July 4, 10am – 3pm – Six authors including Beth Kanell and Gary Schoolcraft will be on hand to sign books during the library’s annual 4th of July Book Sale.

We have a new show up in the gallery — Mr. Gilmore’s View.  An Artist Reception is planned for July 6, 4-6pm.

Summer Reading is in full swing.  What are you reading?  Join our challenge to plot our reading habits.  Right now it looks like everyone is reading fiction, with an occasional non-fiction book thrown in.
