August 11, 6:30pm, Peacham Knitters – Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting. New knitters are welcome to come for help and encouragement.
August 12, 7:00pm, Freedom and Unity: The Vermont Movie — Part Five – Ceres’ Children, takes a deeper look at some of Vermont’s cherished traditions: participatory democracy and the conservation ethic, from the ideas of George Perkins Marsh, one of America’s first environmentalists, to contemporary volunteer groups and activist movements.
August 14, 6:30pm, Herb Club – This month there will be a weed walk and a discussion of herbs that are good for the nervous system.
August 15, 9am, Fiber Friday – Fiber fun for all ages. This month’s project will be sock animals.
August 15, 10am-noon, Coffee Hour – join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!
August 16, 10am – 5pm, Friends of Peacham Library Ice Cream at PAMFest – Drop by the tennis courts during PAMFest to buy ice cream (and toppings!) from Friends of Peacham Library. Your purchase supports book purchases and programs at the library.

August 19 – 21, 9:30 – 11:00am, Mini-Technology Camp – Create and program projects using the Arduino microcontroller. Must be 9 or older (and yes, adults are welcome) with some coding experience. Sign up is required as space is limited. Note, this a week later than originally scheduled.
August 19, 1:15 pm, Tuesday Theatre – Gravity plays a big role in this 2013 film starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. On a routine spacewalk disaster strikes leaving the two astronauts, tethered together, struggling to survive, while reliving their pasts. PG-13

August 21, 7:15pm, Readers’ Delight – The group will discuss The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith. Contact the library if you would like to borrow a copy of the book.

Of Interest
The summer reading challenge continues. Just think, if everyone added a marker for every book read in the next few weeks, would we fill up the fiction columns? Right now we are at 175 total books for the kids and 162 for the adults. Remember, the markers can be for any book you read (or listen to) since June 3. Books do not have to come from our library!
