August 24, 6:30 pm, Peacham Knitters — Peacham Knitters and Puzzlers— Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting. There is also a jigsaw puzzle available for those who prefer this activity.

August 28, 10am-noon, Coffee Hour –  join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good John Shelby Spong (photo by Dick Snyder)conversation. Suitable for all ages!

August 29, 7:00 pm, Influential Authors, at Peacham Congregational Church – Biblical scholar, Rev. John Shelby Spong, author of over 24 books, will kick off the series with a talk titled “Re-Claiming the Bible for a Non-Religious World.” Future speakers to be announced. This talk is a fund-raising event, with all donations supporting the library.

Looking Ahead

August 31, 6:30pm, Retirement Party — Join us as we celebrate Hertha Forrai’s many years of library service.

August 31 — Last day to bring your Passport to Vermont Libraries in to see if you visited the most libraries!  Prizes both locally and statewide for folks in three different age groupings!  More details may be found at http://www.vermontlibraries.org/passport/.

September 4, 10am-noon, Coffee Hour –  join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

September 5, 10:00 am, Story Time –Stories and activities for the young at heart.
