07 Dec

Did you know that you can now support AmazonSmile2Peacham Library by using Amazon Smile?  Just log onto your regular Amazon account through Amazon Smile and Amazon will donate 0.5% of your purchase price to Peacham Library (as long as the library is your chosen charity). Your items cost the same as through the regular Amazon webpage and it benefits the library, so why not give it a try today? There is a handy link right on our home page to help you out

December 7, 7:00 pm, Board Meeting — Meetings are open to the public.

December 8, 1 – 7pm, Hour of Code — Take a break from the holiday preparations to join us at the library for an hour of code.  Try your hand at writing code for a game, an art piece, an app, an arduino or a Lego robot!  There are many tutorials to try, each only an hour long.  To help you out, we’ll also have people on hand with coding experience throughout the day.  Can’t make it to the library, check out the “Hour of Code” website (https://hourofcode.com/us).

December 12, 10am – noon, Santa, Crafts and Latkes — A party for the whole family.  Start the morning with crafts, followed by a visit from the man in red, and end with a feast of latkes and applesauce.

December 12, 1:00pm, Herb Club — Join the members of Herb Club for a discussion about herbs and their uses. No experience necessary.

Holiday Adopt-a-Book — Looking for a unique present this year?  Why not adopt a book at the library?  Here’s how it works:

  •  Find a book on the list below that you’d like to adopt.  All the books will soon be on display at the library.
  •  Tell the Librarian.
  •  You pay for the book.
  •  The Librarian puts a label in the book (if you want).
  •  You or your adoptee gets to check the book out first.
  •  Your adoptee is happy, you are happy, the Library is happy.
  •  It’s a WIN, WIN, WIN!

A FULL list of the books that are or will be available is now on the library’s website.
