June 1, CLOSED while we insulate the attic.

June 2 — Passport to Vermont Libraries Program starts — Pick up a passport and start visiting libraries throughout Vermont. More details can be found at https://www.facebook.com/vermontpassport.

June 2, 10:00am, Summer Reading Kick-off Event, at Peacham Elementary School — Stephen Coronella will present stories, music and more around this summer’s theme – Ready, Set, Read.  Everyone is welcome to join us.

June 4, 10:00 am, Story Time – Stories and activities for the young at heart.

June 6, 7:00 pm, Board Meeting — Meetings are open to the public.

June 13 & 27, 6:30 pm, Peacham Knitters and Puzzlers— Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting. Or work on the current jigsaw puzzle.

June 16, 7:00 pm, Readers’ Delight – This month’s book is Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates.  Books are available at the library if you would like to join the discussion.

June 21, 6:30pm, Community Discussion of Being Mortal by Atul Gawande at St. Johnsbury SchoolPlease join us for both small and large group discussions, a sharing of ideas and experiences, and an opportunity to explore the most important issues that each of us will face as we care not only for our loved ones, but ourselves, during the journey towards end-of- life needs.  Facilitated by Dr. Josh Lakin, a colleague of Dr. Gawande, along with Dr. Mary Ready, and Rev. Ann Hockridge.

June 23, 7:00pm, Health Talk with Dr. Josh – Dr. Josh Kantrowitz will facilitate a discussion on child protection services based on the article “Baby Doe: A political history of tragedy” printed in the February 1, 2016 issue of The New Yorker.  Contact the library for help obtaining a copy of the article.

June 27 – July 1, 9:30 – 11:00am – Summer Reading – Ready, Set Read “Camp” – All things that require you to “get ready,” “set” and read / fly / experiment / play / make.  (signup required by June 23; children 5 and under must come with a parent).

Every Friday, 10:00 am – noon, Coffee Hour – A chance to drink a cup of coffee or tea, enjoy a sweet or two and chat with your friends and neighbors.
