April 18, 1:15 pm, Tuesday Theatre – “Queen of Katwe” – QueenChess, the game of Kings, is not one you’d expect to see in the shanty towns of Uganda and yet, it is from here that a coach provides a rag-tag group of children the opportunity to learn chess and receive a meal.  Out of his group comes a young woman who masters the game. Rated PG.

41Q0o3rNKJLApril 19, 9:00am, Build the Eiffel Tower – You’ve seen part of it at the library, now it’s your turn to help rebuild it from the ground up.  Open to all, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

April 20, 7:00 pm, Readers’ Delight – Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov is this month’s book.  Contact the library if you would like to borrow a copy of the book.

April 21, 10 am – noon — Coffee Hour — Join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

Looking Ahead

April 24, 6:30 pm, Peacham Knitters and Puzzlers— Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting. Or work on the current jigsaw puzzle.

April 28, 10 am – noon — Coffee Hour — Join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

April 28, 7:00 pm, Poetry Night – Rhymes, rhythms, limericks, sonnets and more.  This is your chance to share your favorite poetry with others.    It could be a slam, or maybe just a quiet performance, whichever you prefer.  So get your poetry hat on and join us!

April 29, 9:00 am – noon – Flea Market – Support Friends of Peacham Library at the annual Flea Market held at Peacham Congregational Church.  Quality used items as well as coffee and sweets will be sold.  Donations of quality items accepted until April 28.  Contact Martha Ide.

FLEA MARKET

It’s flea market time again! We’re seeking good quality flea market items for the Friends of Peacham Library to sell at Peacham’s Annual Flea Market (9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 29, downstairs in the Peacham Congregational Church). No clothing or books, please.

Items may be dropped off at the Church after 10 a.m. on Friday, April 28, or call Martha Ide at 592-3995 or Becky Lafferty at 592-3531. Thanks for your generosity, and please remember to come!
