October 17, 1:15 pm, Tuesday Theatre – “Alexander’s Ragtim51WJR3HZD8L._AC_US218_e Band” – Tyrone Power and Alice Faye star in this movie about a gifted violinist who starts a Jazz Band, falls in love with his lead singer and then heads off to WWI.  The movie won the Oscar for Best Music, Scoring in 1939.

October 17 , 7:00pm – Travel Series – Last spring Tim headed for the west coast to explore, beginning and ending at a base camp at Chuck and Henry Gallagher’s place in Portland, Oregon. From there he drove down the coast with stops at old growth forests until he reached the Redwoods. He spent five days hiking amid these wondrous trees, then drove east and north through Klamath Falls and the east side of the Cascades, avoiding late season snow storms and getting to know the dry side of Oregon. Finally he spend a couple of days in the Three Sisters area before ending his trip back in Portland with a final hike up Tom,Dick, and Harry mountain.

October 18, 5:30 – 6:30 pm, Introduction to Yoga – Continuation of an introduction to basic yoga poses, breathing and meditation with instructor Kalanani Gallas.  There is a fee.

October 19, 7:00 pm, Readers’ Delight – Northanger Abby by Jane Austen is this month’s book.  The November book will be The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben. Contact the library if you would like to borrow a copy of either books.

October 20, 10 am – noon, Coffee Hour – Join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

October 20, 7:30pm, Star Party at Northern Skies Observatory — 14484672_1227385307321018_2492751211318291047_nThe weather for next week’s International Observe the Moon Night is somewhat questionable at this time.  This is a chance to see the stars (but not the moon tonight) up close and personal.  Park at the school and walk up the hill.

October 23, 6:30 pm, Peacham Knitters and Puzzlers — Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting. Or work on the current jigsaw puzzle.Reading

October 24 , 7:00pm – Travel Series – You’ve seen the frogs at the desk, but did you know they travel all over the world with our library patrons? Becky Jensen, Peacham Llibrary Director, will share with you the joys of travelling with a frog, not only here in Peacham, but throughout the world.

October 25, 5:30 – 6:30 pm, Introduction to Yoga – Continuation of an introduction to basic yoga poses, breathing and meditation with instructor Kalanani Gallas.  There is a fee.

October 26, 5pm — Farmer’s Market Meeting — A community discussion and brainstorm session regarding the future of our Farmers Market.  Cofffee, tea and baked goods will be provided.

October 27, 10 am – noon, Coffee Hour – Join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

October 28, after dark, International Observe the Moon Night — 14484672_1227385307321018_2492751211318291047_nPeacham Library and Northeast Kingdom Astronomy Foundation invite you to join us for International Observe the Moon Night, a worldwide celebration of our nearest neighbor, the Moon!  NOTE:  Date and time may change depending on weather; please check www.nkaf.org or www.peachamlibrary.org and the library throughout the week to be sure you come on the right day!  Held at the observatory.
