January 4, 6:00 pm, Family Movie: “Inside Out” – Enjoy some cocoa, popcorn, and a great movie. PJs optional. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Running Time 102 minutes. Rated PG.
January 5, 11:00 am, Story Time – Stories, a craft, and a bit of running around. Everyone is welcome.
January 5, 7:00 pm, Winter Coffee House: Carol Hausner & Jonathan “Doc” Kaplan – Joyful playing with heartfelt, resonant vocals will fill the Peacham Library as Carol and Jonathan return to perform more songs from their musical journey together.
January 6, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Gallery Reception: “Nature, as I see it” Photographs by Dorothy Baxter. – “I love nature. I go out into the woods to find peace. My photographs are my diary. Mother Earth has given us treasures to find. My Grandfather taught me to be aware of my surroundings. These photos represent a sampling of what I have found. Spend your afternoon off at the library solving clues to unlock secret ingredients and then baking up some cupcakes, some to take home and some for Coffee Hour the next day. All ages welcome, children 8 and under should be accompanied by parent or caregiver. Please call the library or use this form to register, so we have enough supplies for everyone.
January 10, 5:30 pm, Tai Chi for Fall Prevention: Beginner’s Class – Start at the beginning and learn about this ancient practice, building strength and balance in a quiet setting. Week 1.
January 10, 7:00 pm, An Introduction to Wet-Felting – Join Laura Abrahamsen for a crafting evening where you’ll learn how water, soap, and friction work together to turn combed wool into felt. You’ll come away with a mug rug and an understanding of the materials and techniques you can use to continue to explore this fiber medium on your own. Wear old clothes and bring a small bowl. $5.00 material fee payable to the instructor at class time. Please call the library or use this form to register. Space is limited to 9 people, 12 and up.
