This Week at the Library – June 24

June 24, 6:30 pm, Peacham Knitters and Puzzlers – Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting.  Or work on the current jigsaw puzzle while you chat.

June 26, 10:00 am, Tai Chi for Fall Prevention – Sponsored by Northeast Kingdom Council on Aging and SASH. Continue your practice, building strength and balance in a quiet setting.

June 27, 5:30 pm, Tai Chi for Fall Prevention: Level 2 – Continue learning about this ancient practice, building strength and balance in a quiet setting. Sponsored by Northeast Kingdom Council on Aging and SASH.

June 27, 5:30 pm, Story Time at the Farmer’s Market – Join us at the Farmer’s Market this summer as the Library brings stories, and a craft to the Peacham Farmer’s Market.  Everyone is welcome.

June 28, 10:00 am – noon, Coffee Hour – A chance to drink a cup of coffee or tea, enjoy a sweet or two, and chat with your friends and neighbors.

July 2, 1:30 pm,  Aging Well in Peacham – Join this monthly group for snacks, company and interesting topics.

July 4, 10:00 am – 3:30 pm, Book Sale – Enjoy browsing at our huge Book Sale in the basement of the Library.  Books are sorted by subject and author.  Most are price at $1 or less.

July 4, 3:30 pm, Reading Frederick Douglass – Join us as we read together the fiery July 5, 1852 speech in which the great abolitionist orator Frederick Douglass took exception to being asked to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This is a participatory event. Community members are invited to witness and/or join in the reading. Copies of the speech will be provided. Contact the library if you are interested.
