2020 Town Appropriation Request

16 Dec
This week the Peacham Library board of trustees submitted a request for an increase in our appropriation to the Town of Peacham’s Appropriations Committee. In the next 30 days, we will be gathering signatures from registered voters of Peacham to qualify to be included on the 2020 Town Meeting ballot.

As a supporter of the library, we ask that you consider signing our petition. Forms may be found at the library, and other central locations around the village.

Our public library, free and open to all who enter, is always in the top percentile in terms of usage of our programs and services per capita compared to other libraries throughout the state. By contrast, we are in a very low percentile when looking at the amount of local appropriation we receive from the town. We ask the voters of Peacham to consider the library’s central place in our community, both as a vital utility and as a place for pure enjoyment. This increase in our appropriation amounts to an investment on the part of the voters of Peacham, and w.ill allow us to sustain and grow our services now and into the future.
