January 6, 7:00 pm, Library Board Meeting – Meetings are open to the public. 

January 7, 10:00 am, Peacham Fire District #1 – The monthly meeting is open to the public. Note special date and time.

January 7, 1:30 pm, Aging Well in Peacham: The Weapons of Fraud-This presentation provides information on avoiding the traps set by criminals and recognizing the tactics they employ.  This event is open to everyone. Enjoy an afternoon at the library, with food, fun and socializing with this monthly group. 

January 8, 10:00 am, Tai Chi for Fall Prevention -Sponsored by Northeast Kingdom Council on Aging and SASH. Continue your practice, building strength and balance in a quiet setting. All levels.

January  8, 6:30 pm, Selectboard Meeting – (Changed dates for January)

January 10, 10:00 am – noon, Coffee Hour – A chance to drink a cup of coffee or tea, enjoy a sweet or two, and chat with your friends and neighbors.

January 11, 7:00 pm, Winter Coffeehouse with Don & Jenn – Don Sinclair and Jennifer Grossi are from Bradford, Vermont. This is their first show at the Peacham Coffee House series, but they have performed in Peacham as part of the David Rosane & The Zookeepers library benefit tour. For the past decade they’ve provided inspiration for music-lovers of all ages through their music and performance education company D&J Music. Don & Jenn are also the founders of the Summer Street Music Series, an event coordinator and musicians’ network based in their home town of Bradford. Their “Book of ZOO” album with David Rosane won a 2019 Best Vermont Rock Album Tammie award. As a duo, their style cycles between blues and soul, gentle folk and sexy jazz. They are married – but that doesn’t stop them from playing music together. They promise a heartwarming, fun, and sometimes cheeky, show.

January 12, 12:30 pm, Fedco Seed and Garden Gathering and Potluck – Do you enjoy perusing garden catalogs and thinking about spring? Come and chat about seeds, gardening and spring. All are welcome.  New to Fedco? Come and find out more. Catalogs available at the library and Town Offices. (No need to to place an order to join in the fun) Bring a dish to share. 

Coming Up

January 13, 6:30 pm, Peacham Knitters and Puzzlers and Scrabblers – Bring your knitting or other handwork, work on the current jigsaw puzzle while enjoying lively company and conversation. We will also have the the Scrabble™ board for any interested wordsmiths. 

January 14, 6:30 pm, Peacham Community Housing – This group is a non-profit, charitable organization, supporting and enabling community projects that contribute to Peacham’s quality of living.

January 15, 6:15 pm, Peacham Energy Committee – Informational Meeting with Green Mountain Power. GMP representatives will present a program on their grid resiliency and vision for the future. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. There will be time for questions and comments.

January 16, 7:00 pm, Readers’ Delight – Join us for a discussion of  “Before We Were Yours” by Lisa Wingate. Based on one of America’s most notorious real-life scandals, this wrenching, and ultimately uplifting tale reminds us how, even though the paths we take can lead to many places, the heart never forgets where we belong. Contact the library if you would like to borrow a copy of the book.
