March 3, TOWN MEETING – Please support the Library’s request for an appropriation from the town. Our public library, free and open to all who enter, is always in the top percentile in terms of usage of our programs and services per capita compared to other libraries throughout the state. By contrast, we are in a very low percentile when looking at the amount of local appropriation we receive from the town. We ask the voters of Peacham to consider the library’s central place in our community, both as a vital utility and as a place for pure enjoyment. This increase in our appropriation amounts to an investment on the part of the voters of Peacham, and will allow us to sustain and grow our services now and into the future. March 6, 10:00 am – noon, Coffee Hour – A chance to drink a cup of coffee or tea, enjoy a sweet or two, and chat with your friends and neighbors.

March 6, 6:00 pm, Family Movie: “Toy Story 4” – Enjoy some hot cocoa, popcorn, and a great movie.  PJs optional.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.  Rated G. Running time 100 minutes.

March 7, 11:00 am, Story Time – Join us for a program of stories, and a craft and running around.

March 7, 7:00 pm, Winter Coffeehouse with Deb ’n Dean – Join us for our annual “Coffee House” live music series with performances each month from January through March. The Coffee House series brings community together around live music, warm beverages, refreshments, and camaraderie during cold winter evenings. The community is invited to join in during an open mic session following each show. A $5 suggested donation is requested. 

Deb ‘n Dean, otherwise known as Debbie Gray and Dean Bornstein, are an acoustic/electric duo who perform an energetic variety of pop, country, and blues music. Combining acoustic and electric guitar and bass for a more eclectic sound, they have played solo gigs and with bands across Vermont and New Hampshire. Their collaboration creates a unique sound as they explore their varied musical interests from country classics like Merle Haggard and Mary Chapin Carpenter, singer/songwriter legends like Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne, and pop music of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Wilco creating a versatile songbook that is always evolving.

March 9, 6:30 pm, Peacham Knitters and Puzzlers and Scrabblers – Bring your knitting or other handwork, work on the current jigsaw puzzle while enjoying lively company and conversation. We will also have the the Scrabble™ board for any interested wordsmiths. 

March 10, 1:30 pm, Aging Well in Peacham – This event is open to everyone. Enjoy an afternoon at the library, with food, fun and socializing with this monthly group. 

March 10, 6:30 pm, Peacham Community Housing – This group is a non-profit, charitable organization, supporting and enabling community projects that contribute to Peacham’s quality of living.

March 10, 7:00 pm, Peacham Fire District #1 – The regular monthly meeting is open to the public.

March 10, Deposit Due for Introduction to Ikebana  – $10 deposit due, $5 balance due day of class. Learn about the principle and philosophy of Ikenbana Flower Arranging with L.J. Stewart. Ikebana is the art of beautifully arranging cut stems, leaves, and flowers in vases and other containers that evolved in Japan over seven centuries. Fee for materials.

March 15, 5:00 pm, Soup and Stories – A potluck dinner that includes a story time for the kids. Bring along something to share. Soccer families are welcome to join us after the game, too.
