All programs and meetings have been postponed due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19.
The Director and the Board of Trustees will meet on April 6 and review the COVID-19 situation and re-evaluate opening the library, if it is deemed safe for both patrons and staff.
The cancellations and postponements include the Gardening Group, Soup & Stories, Movie Matinee, all Tai Chi and Yoga classes, Reader’s Delight discussion group, On Guard Meeting, Abdi Nor Iftin author talk, Introduction to Ikebana, Knitters and Puzzlers, Quilt Circle, Alcoholics Anonymous and our Friday Coffee Hours.
Why? Because we care about our community and we want to be a part of helping to keep everyone healthy. We may be ahead of the curve but better that, than wait too long. We may always reverse our decision, if we find we are overly cautious. We cannot reverse the decision if we stay open and find that we helped spread the disease.
That does not mean that you can’t get books and movies! Just send us an email – peachamlibrary@gmail.com with your requests and we will find a way to get them to you! If you can drive over, we’ll bring them out to you in your car! If you can’t come to the library, let us know – we are working on making arrangements for delivery. You can call us too – 592-3216, though we won’t be checking phone messages as often as emails.
Don’t forget that you have access to eBooks and audiobooks online at ListenUp Vermont https://gmlc.overdrive.com/. Send an email if you need any help with the service.
Would you like to hold a virtual meeting? I am no expert, but would be glad to meet with you and help figure out a way to do that.
Though our doors are closed, we will be working on (germ free) ways to reach out and stay connected to the community. Thank you for your understanding.
And don’t forget to wash your hands!
