THE COVID CURSE

Just like you, FOPL was staggered by the pandemic. Once again, we are unable to
host our “annual” Cinco de Mayo celebration. We were stymied. But, following some
brainstorming, it occurred to us: there is something all FOPL members and library
card holders can enjoy and share—books! 

We know you embraced many essential things during Covid-19. Did that mean you
bought more books? We did! So many books: food for thought, mechanisms for
escape, sources of solace, workouts for grey cells, oxygen for brains in quarantine,
and worthwhile enrichment for the kids. 

Unite with us in a fundraising effort. 

• Bring your new or like-new hardbacks and trade paperbacks, published between January 2019 and the present, to the Library by May 1. All genres welcome.

• Share your reading experience with community members by writing a short appreciation of the opus. Tuck it right into the book.

• Attach a sticky note marked AUCTION on your donation. 

Here’s the FUNdraising part.

During Reading is Fun week (May 8-15), the books will
be auctioned on Bidding Owl so your community members can enjoy them, too! 
Your blurb will be part of the description we use to entice people to buy the book.

FROM AWAY?
If you are sending a book from afar, or prefer to donate a book purchased at your local
bookstore or online, you can do so by addressing the book, posted by media mail, to:
Peacham Library, PO Box 253, Peacham, Vermont 05862.
