The Peacham Library is hosting its annual Winter Coffee House live music series online this year. Tune in via Facebook livestream or register to watch on Zoom to hear local and regional musical acts performing to warm your winter nights. Each performance will be followed by a virtual open mic – details to participate are below.
Our last event of the series is a double header!
Jonathan “Doc” Kaplan & Carol Hausner capture the essence of the traditional, roots, and original music they perform. Carol is an expressive singer, rhythm guitar and mandolin player and award-winning songwriter. “Doc” is a joyful keyboard player with resonant vocals. Together they harmoniously create a rich, savory sound.
Pete Sutherland and Oliver Scanlon of Pete’s Posse: Local folk hero Pete and his protege Oliver met up when Oliver was a shy 4th grader, and the two bonded over fiddle music. Several years later they began to play out, later joining forces with guitarist Tristan Henderson to form ‘Pete’s Posse’, a hard-driving trio that spent half a dozen years touring nationally and internationally with its innovative blend of rocking contradance music, thoughtful and hilarious original songs and soulful three part acapella. The Posse spent the first 8 months of the largely gig-free pandemic recording a double album of new music before Tristan left to be with his family in Quebec. With the trio in hibernation, Pete and Oliver have revived their duo act, informed by all the musical styles and sounds the trio is known for, and continuing to keep the Posse flame burning while adding new repertoire to the mix.
