Holiday Adopt – A – Book

Would you like to support the library by adopting a book?  Consider adopting a book with the Holiday Adopt-A-Book program, with books available to adopt until the end of the year.

  •  Find a book on the list that you’d like to adopt.  All the books are on display at the library.
  •  Tell the Librarian.
  •  You pay for the book.
  •  The Librarian puts a label in the book (if you want).
  •  You get to check the book out first!

April 18, 1:15 pm, Tuesday Theatre – “Queen of Katwe” – Chess, the game Queenof Kings, is not one you’d expect to see in the shanty towns of Uganda and yet, it is from here that a coach provides a rag-tag group of children the opportunity to learn chess and receive a meal.  Out of his group comes a young woman who masters the game. Rated PG.

April 19, 9:00am, Build the Eiffel Tower – You’ve seen part of it at the library, now it’s your turn to help rebuild it from the ground up.  Open to all, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

April 20, 7:00 pm, Readers’ Delight – Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov is this month’s book.  Contact the library if you would like to borrow a copy of the book.

April 29, 9:00 am – noon – Flea Market – Support Friends of Peacham Library at the annual Flea Market held at Peacham Congregational Church.  Quality used items as well as coffee and sweets will be sold.  Donations of quality items accepted until April 28.  Contact Martha Ide.

Our first cookbook will be Mma Ramotswe’s Cookbook by Stuart Brown. We will gather on Saturday, March 18 at 4pm to share our cooking and thoughts about the recipes. needed, one which will have implications for understanding both human minds and computer artificial intelligence?

An open mic for those who wish to share their music will be available at 8pm.  Coffee, tea, cider and snacks will be on hand.
