April 8, 3:00 – 5:30pm – Friendly Folk Music Jam OpenMusic1 to acoustic instrument players of any skill level interested in a relaxed, collegial atmosphere to share folk or old-time music. Come share your talent and a simple song (3 or 4 chords).

April 9, 6:30 pm, Peacham Knitters and Puzzlers Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting. Or work on the current jigsaw puzzle while you chat.

It’s SPRING CLEANING time again!  We’re gearing up for our Annual Flea Market to benefit the Friends of Peacham Library on Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Peacham Congregational Church.  We’re seeking donations of good, clean, items such as furniture, lamps, electronics in working order, linens, glass and wooden ware, toys, artwork, household items, sporting goods, and jewelry.  No clothing or books, please.  This is a great way to help with your spring cleaning and assist Peacham Library at the same time.

Items may be dropped off at the Church between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, April 27, or call Becky Lafferty at 592-3531 or Joanna Bodenweber at 563-2656 for pick up assistance.  Thanks for your generosity, and please join us at the Flea Market!

May 31, 7:00pm,  – PrintBetty Keller, MD, will share a the film “The Healthcare Movie” describing the evolution of healthcare insurance in Canada and the US and then lead a discussion on what a single-payer healthcare system might mean for Vermont and the US.

June 1, 10:30am, Summer Reading Program Modern Times TheaterKickoff at Peacham Elemenatary School — Modern Times Theater will present “The Perils of Mr. Punch,” as a prelude to the library’s “Build a Better World” summer program.   Sponsored, in part, by the Vermont Department of Libraries.   All are welcome to attend.

May 27, 4:00pm, Cooking the Book — Join us for our second cookbook.  The cooks select one recipe from the confederacy of duncessame cookbook to make and share. This month the cookbook will be The Confederacy of Dunces Cookbook by Cynthia LeJeune Nobles. We will gather to share our cooking and thoughts about the recipes. Stop by the library to select a recipe.   You do not need to cook to participate, but please let the librarian know that you will be attending so that the cooks make enough!

This week at the library — February 28, 2016

March 1, TOWN MEETING – The library will open after the conclusion of Town Meeting.

March 3, 12 noon, Lunch Talk — Help at Home with NEK Council on Aging — Heidi Baker from the NEK Council on Aging’s returns for another lunch talk on issues relevant to elders and their caregivers..  This program compliments the work SASH has begun in Peacham.  Open to all; soup and bread will be served.

March 4, 10am-noon, Coffee Hour – join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

March 5, 10:00 am, Story Time – Stories and activities for the young at heart.

March 5, Games at the library – Families 4 – 6pm, Potluck Dinner for all 6 – 7pm, Adults 7 – 9pm — bring your favorite games or play one of ours.
