September 3 — Library closed for Labor Day.

September 6, 5pm — Introduction to Yoga session six; class is filled.

September 6, 7pm — Peacham Film Festival – Rescheduled from August 30.  The series concludes with a Jay Craven (Kingdom County Productions) directed adaptation of Howard Frank Mosher’s book, Disappearances. Kris Kristofferson stars in this movie.  Rated PG-13.

September 7, 10am – noon, Coffee Hour – Join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation.  Suitable for all ages!

September 29, 10am – noon start, Biking For Books, the best 10, 28 or 53 miles you’ll ever ride in support of Peacham Library.  Rain date September 30.

This week at the library — August 26, 2012

August 30, 5pm–Introduction to Yoga session five; class is filled.

August 30, 7pm, Peacham Film Festival – Rescheduled from August 23.  Peacham becomes Gilead, Maine in this film, starring Ellen Burstyn, about a small town down on its luck.  The film was produced by Warner Brothers and is rated PG-13. There will be one more film next Thursday at 7pm.

August 30, 10am – noon, Coffee Hour – Join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation.  Suitable for all ages!

Of Interest

Mark your calendars and start building up your stamina for the Biking For Books ride on September 29th.  There will be a great 10 mile route for newbies, a longer 28 mile ride for the more experienced and a possible 50 miler for the truly adventurous.

We’ve had a slew of new donations for the book sale.  Drop by whenever we are open to pick up some great deals on new and gently used books for all ages.

This week at the library — August 19, 2012

August 21, 1:15pm Tuesday Theatre presents an action packed movie about a tourist, starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie.  Rated PG-13.

August 21, 7pm — Game Night!  Enjoy an evening of games in the naturally air conditioned comfort of the library.  Bring your own or play one of the library’s.

August 23, 5pm–Introduction to Yoga session three; class is filled.

August 23, 7pm, Peacham Film Festival – Rescheduled from August 16. Michael Fox, Rip Torn and Tantoo Cardinal star in this PG-13 rated adaptation of Howard Frank Mosher’s book Where the Rivers Flow North, produced by Kingdom County Productions. There will be two more films on Thursdays at 7pm.

August 24, 9am, Preschool Story Time, a time for stories, a craft and occasionally a song for children and their parents.

August 24, 10am – noon, Coffee Hour – Join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation.  Suitable for all ages!

This week at the library — August 12, 2012

August 15, 7pm, Readers’ Delight, Birds without Wings, part 2.  The September book will be Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, by Dai Sijie.  Stop by the library to pick up a copy.

August 16, 5pm, Introduction to Yoga — Contact the library to confirm

August 16, 7pm, Peacham Film Festival – Edith Wharton’s book Ethan Frome comes alive in this PG rated film starring Liam Neesan. There will be three more films on Thursdays at 7pm. POSTPONED from August 9 due to power outage.

August 17, 10am – noon, Coffee Hour – Join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation.  Suitable for all ages!

August 18, 11am – 6pm, Friends of Peacham Library will be selling ice cream at PAMFest.  Support the Friends and the library while enjoying a cool treat.

August 2, 7pm, Peacham Film Festival — Stephen King created the characters for this thrilling sequel to “Salem’s Lot.”  Michael Moriarty stars in this R rated film.  There will be four more films on each of the August Thursdays at 7pm.

August 3, 9am, Preschool Story Time, stories, crafts and activities for the young and their parents.

August 3, 10am – noon, Coffee Hour – Join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation.  Suitable for all ages!

August 5, 4-6pm, Artist Reception — An opening reception for Julie Lang and Bruce MacLean whose travel photographs will be on display in August and September.
