Flood Resources
State:
- Personal and business flood damages can- and really should-be reported to VT 211. This will help the state get a more accurate idea of the (huge) extent of damages and secure the appropriate amount of emergency funding. The 2-1-1 service will also of course will work to connect people with resources as they always do.
- Flood victims can call 2-1-1, text their zip code to 898211, email info@vermont211.org, or go to the website vermont211.org, choose ‘Resident’ or ‘Business’ Form, and submit information that way. The fillable form is a new addition during this emergency that people may not know about yet and may be easier and faster for some. Please help spread the word!
- The State of Vermont created a volunteer registration portal for those wishing to engage in an organized effort to assist communities.
- Governor Scott is holding frequent press conferences to share information about Vermont’s emergency response and recovery. View them on the Governor’s Facebook page, ORCA Media, and other Vermont media outlets.
- The Vermont Department of Health issued an important news release 7/13/23, Guidance for Vermont Flood Recovery Health and Safety.
- Vermonters are encouraged to register to receive VT-ALERT emergency information messages.
- Road closure information is available from New England 511.
- Vermont Department of Health offers guidance and information on their Stay Safe in a Flood page. These pages include topics such as Returning to your Home After a Flood and After a Flood: Drinking Water Guidance.
- The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources shares a frequently updated document listing towns with Boil Water and Do Not Drink notifications on their Flood Recovery Resource page.
- The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources press release dated 7/13/23 details How to Safely Pump Out Basements.
- FloodReadyVT offers many resources to Vermonters.
- The Vermont Department of Mental Health offers resources and support in response to the flooding.

- Vermont Small Business Development Center offers a workbook to help small business owners document and move through planning and recovery stages after a disaster.
- Flood safety information in multiple languages is available from the Vermont Language Justice Project.
- The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) offers flood disaster response resources including information on safe clean-up practices.
- The Environmental Protection Agency offers flooded homes cleanup guidance.
- Vermont Community Foundation has set up a VT Flood Response & Recovery Fund.
