August 2, 5:30 – 6:30 pm, Introduction to Yoga – Continuation of an introduction to basic yoga poses, breathing and meditation with instructor Kalanani Gallas.  There is a fee.PeachamSchool

August 3, 7:00 pm, Summer Series – 200 Years of Education in Peacham The Peacham School, Inc: Its Origins and Its History  – All alums of Peacham schools are invited and encouraged to attend!

August 4, 9:15 am, Story Time – Stories, a craft, and a bit of running around.  Everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

August 4, 10 am – noon, Coffee Hour – Join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

August 4, 6:00 pm, Family Movie – “Babe” – Enjoy some cocoa, popcorn and a great movie.  PJs optional.  All children must be accompanied by an adult. Rated G.

August 5, 8:00 am, Collaborator’s Meeting – The Collaborator’s are a group of folks who meet every other month to discuss and help the various organizations in Peacham.  Please join us as we help each other and the community.

August 8 – 10, 9:30 – 11:00 am, Build a Better Robot – Build and program a robot.  Signup required; suitable for those 9 and up, including adults!

August 9, 6:30pm – PHA Annual Meeting – Susan Fineman will speak on “The Rocky Road to the Schoolhouse Door: Creating Our Common Schools.”

August 11, 10 am – noon, Coffee Hour – Join us for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet or two and good conversation. Suitable for all ages!

August 14, 6:30 pm, Peacham Knitters and Puzzlers — Bring your knitting or other handwork for an evening of creativity and chatting. Or work on the current jigsaw puzzle.lion

August 15, 1:15 pm, Tuesday Theatre – “Lion” – Dev Patel, and Nicole Kidman star in this movie nominated for 6 Academy Awards.  Rated PG-13.

August 17, 7:00 pm, Readers’ Delight – The Year of Lear by James Shapiro is this month’s book.  Future books are: Still Life by Louise Penny (September), Northanger Abby by Jane Austen (October) and The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben (November). Contact the library if you would like to borrow a copy of any of these books.

August 18, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and August 19, 11 am – 7:00 pm, Friends of Peacham Library Ice Cream at PAMFest – Drop by the tennis courts during PAMFest to buy ice cream (and toppings!) from Friends of Peacham Library.  Your purchase supports book purchases and programs at the library.

April 28, 7:00 pm, Poetry Night – Rhymes, rhythms, limericks, sonnets and more.  This is your chance to share your favorite poetry with others.    It could be a slam, or maybe just a quiet performance, whichever you prefer.  So get your poetry hat on and join us!

April 29, 9:00 am – noon – Flea Market – SupporFlea Market 2017t Friends of Peacham Library at the annual Flea Market held at Peacham Congregational Church.  Quality used items as well as coffee and sweets will be sold.  Donations of quality items accepted until April 28.  Contact Martha Ide.

March 15, 5:30 pm, Friends of Peacham Library – Join FOPL in their support of the library!

March 16, 7:00pm, Readers’ Delight – Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi.  In April the book will be Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. Contact the library if you would like to borrow a copy of either book.

March 18, 4:00pm, Cooking the Book — Announcing a NEW book group.  Everyone will select one (yup, just one) recipe from the same cookbook (yup, just one cookbook) to make and share. Our first cookbook will be Mma Ramotswe’s Cookbook by Stuart Brown. We will gather on Saturday, March 18 at 4pm to share our cooking and thoughts about the recipes. Stop by the library to select a recipe.   Don’t want to cook?  Talk to the librarian about how you can join the discussion.
